CV gaps
CV gaps for Social Media Manager
Social media manager CVs often list platforms and tools without figures. The gap a reader notices first is the lack of audience, engagement and result numbers with a time period attached.
The 4 gaps to check
Platforms without numbers
Why it matters: "Managed Instagram and LinkedIn" is not a result.
How to close it honestly: Give audience growth, reach or engagement for each main channel, with the start and end dates.
Paid versus organic blurred
Why it matters: Paid and organic work need different skills.
How to close it honestly: Say which you ran and what budget you managed, if any.
Volume and consistency unstated
Why it matters: A reader cannot see how much you produced.
How to close it honestly: State how often you posted and what formats you made.
Reporting and tools without outcome
Why it matters: A tool list is easy to copy.
How to close it honestly: Show how you used reports to change what you posted, only where true.
Questions that find your real evidence
- How much did your main channel grow, and over what time?
- Which post or campaign did best, and why?
- What did you change after reading the numbers?
Only add what is true. If you cannot back a line up with a real example, leave it out.
