CV gaps for Recruitment Consultant

Recruitment consultant CVs often say you filled roles but not how many, in which sector or at what value. A reader wants billings, placements and the type of desk you ran.

The 4 gaps to check

  1. Placements and billings missing

Why it matters: Recruitment is measured in numbers.

How to close it honestly: State placements, billings or revenue you generated, with the period, if true.

  2. Desk and sector unclear

Why it matters: A niche desk and a generalist desk are different.

How to close it honestly: Name the sector, seniority of roles and region you covered.

  3. Permanent versus contract not stated

Why it matters: These need different skills and cycles.

How to close it honestly: Say which you worked on and the typical time to fill.

  4. Sourcing and client work blurred

Why it matters: Business development and candidate sourcing are separate.

How to close it honestly: Say how you won clients and how you found candidates.

Questions that find your real evidence

  • How many placements did you make last year?
  • What was your biggest fee or contract?
  • How did you win your best client?

Only add what is true. If you cannot back a line up with a real example, leave it out.
