Level of support unclear
Why it matters: Supporting a team lead and a chief executive are different.
How to close it honestly: State the roles you supported, not names, and how many.
Complexity not shown
Why it matters: Diary, travel and events vary a great deal.
How to close it honestly: Describe the volume and difficulty, such as international travel or board meetings.
Discretion and confidentiality
Why it matters: Trust is central to the role.
How to close it honestly: Say you handled confidential matters, only if true, and give a type of example without detail.
Projects and systems thin
Why it matters: Initiative sets assistants apart.
How to close it honestly: Name a project you ran and the systems you used.
Questions that find your real evidence
- Who did you support, and how many people?
- What was the most complex event or trip you organised?
- What did you take off your executive's plate completely?
Only add what is true. If you cannot back a line up with a real example, leave it out.
