AI interview practice from your CV

This AI mock interview lets you practise answering questions built from your CV and the job advert, then read AI feedback on your answers. It is for people preparing to talk about their real experience in a job interview. You can speak or type, and no person reviews your answers.

How it works

  1. Bring your evidence. Come from your finished CV, or paste your CV and the job advert into setup. Read and agree to the data handling before anything is sent.
  2. Choose speaking or typing. Check your device if you want voice. You can listen to questions and type instead.
  3. Practise the questions. Start with an unscored opening question, then answer questions about your experience and the role. There are usually about six in total, but the set can be shorter. Follow-ups ask for more detail where needed, and you can skip a question.
  4. Review and try again. Read the feedback, check it against your own evidence and retake a question if you want to practise a clearer answer. Download your session record before leaving.

Fictional example

Questions for a project coordinator role

The job and candidate are made up. These questions illustrate the style, not output from a real user's session.

  1. Tell me about yourself and what attracted you to this role.
  2. Your CV describes keeping an action log. How did you decide which missing updates to follow up first?
  3. Tell me about a time two project deadlines clashed. What options did you weigh up?
  4. The advert asks for clear progress reports. How would you handle an update you could not confirm before a meeting?

Fictional example

What the feedback looks like

Fictional answer: "I checked the action log, asked the project leads for their missing updates and marked unconfirmed items before the meeting."

Done well: detail and method

You named the log you checked and the people you contacted.

Partly there: clear order

What was missing

You did not explain your responsibility or what happened after the meeting.

What to try next

Say what you needed to achieve, then add the outcome you can honestly support.

AI feedback can be wrong. It is guidance, not a prediction of how an employer will judge you. The STAR wording check can miss parts expressed differently.

Practise from your own evidence

Questions draw on your CV and the job advert. Build answers from things you have really done, including study or volunteering where relevant. Be clear about your own contribution and do not turn an advertised requirement into experience you do not have.

Your data

CV files are read in your browser, not uploaded; the CV and advert text and your interview answers are sent to AI services when you agree to practise. Spoken answers are turned into text by your browser's speech service, and Evident does not record or save audio; read the privacy page for the full details.

FAQs

How are the questions chosen?
Evident uses your CV and the job advert to prepare questions about your experience and the role. You can come from your finished CV or paste your CV and advert into the practice setup.
How many questions will I answer?
A session usually has about six questions, including an opening question that is practice only and is not scored. The set can be shorter when fewer questions pass the evidence checks.
Can I speak my answers or do I have to type?
You can type your answers or speak them using a supported browser's speech recognition. You can edit the text before submitting it. Questions can also be read aloud. If speech is unavailable, you can still type.
What feedback will I receive?
AI feedback shows what went well, what was missing and what to try next. It also checks the wording for Situation, Task, Action and Result. These checks can miss things, and the feedback is guidance, not an employer's assessment.
Can I keep a record of my practice?
At the end you can download a PDF or JSON session record containing your questions, answers and feedback. Download it before leaving or refreshing, because a refresh ends the session. It is a practice record, not a qualification or an assessment.
